Voluntary Market Garden Grower Traineeship

(January to December 2025)

Position Overview

This volunteer grower traineeship offers a hands-on learning experience in our market garden, which supports our CSA scheme. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in various stages of crop planning, growing, and harvesting vegetables, while learning the essentials of organic and sustainable farming. The traineeship is shaped around a holistic approach to vegetable production.

Main Activities

As a volunteer trainee in our market garden, you will:

• Learn about sowing, planting, and weeding techniques,

• Assist with harvesting and observe post-harvest processing of produce,

• Support preparation of produce for sale and community distribution,

• Participate in basic farm documentation practices, including the logging of planting and harvest dates/quantities, for a hands-on understanding of farm management.

This is a voluntary worker position between 3-4 days per week, there is accommodation in a farmhouse a mile from the growing site plus reasonable expenses for food. There is also a small budget to attend educational workshops. The position is from January to December but other time frames can be discussed.
